Wortimus Prime is headed East!

I have been holding off on making this post “official”  for a while for fear of jinxing my luck, but it’s about time you all know that Worty and I are headed to the East Coast!

After the AECs in Tyler, TX I am making my way out to Buck Davidson’s in Pennsylvania to get his help preparing for the Fair Hill CCI3*. I get to spend a week with the lovely Lainey Ashker, who is taking me as far as Virginia, before catching a “connecting flight” to Buck’s at Morven Park HT. I am praying they leave enough space in the trailer for Worty! Buck is one busy guy with a lottttt of horses!

Thanks to the recommendation of Hawley Bennett, Buck has agreed to give me a shot at riding and working for him. I get to return to Galway Downs in November to help him and Hawley with their horses before fully settling into my new East Coast digs for the winter.

As I head down the driveway of KingsWay Farm, I am full of mixed emotions. One on hand, I am incredibly sad. It is harder than you can imagine to leave you behind, my family and friends; there are too many of you to name, but every single one of you has a special place in my heart. I wouldn’t be making this trip without your help and support.

On the other hand, I am beyond excited to see what this world has in store for me. I know I will meet many more loved ones during my travels, and I can’t wait to take a crack at some East Coast courses! I know Wortimus Prime is eager to run!

For now, I am looking forward to arriving in Texas for the American Eventing Championships.  I have never been to an AEC before, so this will be an adventure for sure. I know Robert Kellerhouse will put on a world class event.

In about 16 hours, Sarah Braun, Elizabeth Henry, and I should reach Western Drive Stables in Tucumcari, NM, with five horses, where we will spend the night before continuing on to Tyler, TX.

In the meantime, I am wishing everyone the best of luck at Twin Rivers Area VI championships! Big Hug Bear and I will see you down the road! 😀
